Admission Procedure
The Faculty of Social Studies ranks among young and dynamic faculties of Masaryk University. It offers education at all three levels of study corresponding to Bologna structure: Bachelor's, Master's and doctoral. While at the postgraduate level, there are whole degree programmes open in English, Bachelor's degrees are currently offered in Czech only. Master's degrees in English are offered in the study fields of Sociology, European Politics, and Publicy Policy and Human Resources.

Application to Masaryk University programmes can be filed via e-application/online form, requirements for admission are specified below. Admission to Bachelor Degree Programmes
At Bachelor level, all degre programmes are taught in Czech. Admission procedure is fully described in the Czech version of this website. Prospective students interested in taking a 1-year course of Czech language or in admission-related information can write to us through admission@fss.muni.cz. If you work hard on the language, you can (especially if you have Slavonic language background) attain proficiency in Czech within one year. The deadline for applications to Bachelor degree programmes: 28 February.

Admission to Master's degree programmes
Czech-taught Master's degree programmes: The entrance examination consists of both an oral and a written test, and assesses the applicant's knowledge in the subject chosen that he/she has gained during Bachelor's level studies, while paying attention to general theory and methodology. English-taught Master's degree programmes differ in the conditions of application procedure - the applicants are supposed to send their materials (including former university transcripts and motivation letters), which are evaluated for admission. - European Politics is designed to provide both practical and theoretical knowledge about European history, political systems and processes of European integration. Advanced academic level and interdisciplinarity of the programme are guaranteed by the specialists from the Department of International Relations and the Department of Political Science. - Sociology provides students with basic skills that enable them to conduct sociological research, and understand and explain social phenomena. The theoretical as well as methodological knowledge gained prepares students to make sense of the rapidly changing world that we live in and participate in shaping its future development. Admission to Ph.D. programmes
All information is available through the faculty website. Usually, for doctoral degree programmes, there is an entrance interview, concentrating on the applicant's dissertation project, academic background and work.
