International Cooperation
The Faculty of Social Studies has a long and highly-regarded tradition of international academic cooperation. Teachers from Europe as well as from overseas come to teach and take part in research together with their colleagues here.
The Faculty succeeded in membership in two international degree programmes. Since 2005, Masaryk university became member of the consortium offering the interdisciplinary European Master’s Programme in Human Rights And Democratisation (E.MA) and from 2008/2009, it was admitted into joint European PhD. on Social Representations and Communication.
Appart from this, the Faculty offers two Master’s degree programmes in English language and all doctoral programmes too. Master's programmes are designed as a four-semester course of study (120 ECTS credits) and are open to students holding a BA or equivalent degree in the social science or the humanities.
Each year, several international conferences take place, with contributions from prominent scholars. The opportunities for students and employees to study and work abroad are increasing from year to year. The Faculty itself has more than 120 LLP/ERASMUS agreements with partner institutions all over the Europe. Then, Masaryk University as a whole participates in ISEP, Erasmus Mundus Action II, CEEPUS, AKTION and other exchange schemes including Czech government bilateral agreements and it is a member of Utrecht Network a Compostella Group Network. Besides, it has signed more than 30 whole-university partnerships overseas. All these facts foster numerous other foreign exchange and cooperation possibilities.
