Exchange and guest students

If you are Erasmus (Europe) exchange student, please select the article for ERASMUS exchange students (Europe) in the menu. If you are coming through a different scheme, read on. At the end of the page, you find links with useful information.

Exchange Students

Central international office of Masaryk University - Office for International Studies (OIS) administers most of exchange programmes. If your exchange stay is arranged via Erasmus Mundus, ISEP, university-wide bilateral agreements, etc. then you will find the information under following links. You should be already selected by your university to apply, or you can send us questions before.

On OIS website, you will find information and links how to apply and arrange your stay. And in the menu, you find other useful articles, and some practicalities.

Important - choice of courses: Please, keep in mind that it is recommended that you register (and fill in in your Learning Agreement) at least 50% of your courses here at the department or degree programme your home university has signed Erasmus agreement with (which should naturally correspond to the subjects you study at home). Other social science courses are also open to you too - you can choose classes according to your interests from the Faculty of Social Studies offer, or some from the whole Masaryk University offer (if you speak Slavonic languages, you might try Czech-taught classes too, and courses in other languages). The Faculty international office will be glad to offer more information about the courses offer. See the links at the end of the page for details.

In case you come via a Faculty or Department-based bilatelar agreement, then please write to the International Office at the Faculty of Social Studies. Our staff will arrange all the details with you, send you letter of acceptance and assist you in the residence permit (visa) procedure.

Guest Students

Apart from these, you can always apply (in case you do not match any of the categories of eligible exchange students) as a guest student to a specific faculty of MU. Basically, if you are not pre-selected by your home university on the basis of some exchange or hosting scheme, our departments evaluate the following materials. Again, contact the Faculty International Office via its email int@fss.muni.cz and send us:

  • Your CV (a short resume)
  • Motivation Letter
  • Transcript of Records
If the relevant department agrees with your stay, we will send you letter of acceptance and help you to arrange the:
  • Learning Agreement
  • Residence Permit (or visa), if necessary
