In the leadership of the faculty, Professor Stanislav Balík, a political science professor, remained at the helm. However, there were changes among the vice-deans. David Šmahel has been appointed as the Vice-Dean for Strategy and Development, which will now include the Department for Research and Project Support merged with the Strategy Department. Vít Hloušek has been named as the Vice-Dean for Research and Doctoral Studies, who will now also oversee personnel matters. Blanka Plasová is the new Vice-Dean for Internationalization and Student Affairs, responsible for lifelong education and the faculty's scholarship policy. Adéla Souralová continues in her role as the Vice-Dean for Education, and Veronika Velička Zapletalová will remain the Vice-Dean for Communication.
These changes in leadership also led to the appointment of new heads of research institutes. Petr Kaniok now leads the International Political Science Institute (MPÚ), and Hana Macháčková is in charge of the Interdisciplinary Research on the Internet and Society (IRTIS).
The Czech Science Foundation (GA ČR) has announced calls for project proposals in the areas of Standard Projects, JUNIOR STAR, POSTDOC INDIVIDUAL FELLOWSHIP, and International Projects, as well as a new scheme, the Restart Grants, designed for researchers resuming their careers after a break.
