This year’s First Steps with FSS event took place on a Monday for the first time. Despite the hot June weather, the event welcomed the highest number of admitted students in its history on June 22. Guided by their future classmates, participants had the opportunity to learn what they could expect if they studied at the Faculty of Social Studies.
We have been organizing First Steps with FSS for newly admitted students for many years. Many of these students are still trying to decide whether to enroll at FSS MUNI, and the event helps them get to know the faculty before making their final decision.
Throughout the day, buddies—current students from across the faculty who help newcomers settle into university life—guided participants around the building. The program included faculty tours, informal conversations with future fellow students and instructors, and presentations by the Office for Studies.
Future students could also enjoy free popcorn and get a temporary airbrush tattoo.

This year’s Dies Academicus took place on a sunny Thursday, May 21st. The traditional academic ceremony, which includes the presentation of Masaryk University Rector’s Awards and Masaryk University Medals, was held in the Karel Engliš Grand Auditorium at the Faculty of Law.
An awards ceremony, plenty of fun and sports activities, and great food – on Wednesday, April 22, the traditional Faculty Day took place, which was even more sustainable this year thanks to new reusable deposit cups.
