Psychologists Anna Ševčíková and Lenka Dědková have been included in the Forbes ranking of the Top Women Scientists in the Czech Republic.

Anna Ševčíková from INSPY studies mental and sexual health and how it is being transformed under the influence of digital technologies. She is the leading researcher in the project On Our Own: Opportunities and Risks in the Individualization of Society (PRINS), a highly prestigious research initiative that brings together experts from four Czech universities and the Academy of Sciences, while being primarily conducted at FSS.

Lenka Dědková is Deputy Head of IRTIS, Assistant Professor in the Department of Media Studies and Journalism, and an editor of Cyberpsychology: Journal of Psychosocial Research on Cyberspace. She approaches research from an interdisciplinary perspective, combining her expertise in psychology, communication, and information science. For her publishing activities, she has in the past received the Rector’s Award or the MUNI Scientist Award.

Every year, Forbes compiles a list of interesting, inspiring, and active women researchers across a number of fields. The selection covers disciplines from physics and chemistry to robotics, biology, medicine, history, and psychology. Anna Ševčíková and Lenka Dědková are two of only three scientists representing Masaryk University this year.

For this year’s list, Forbes reached out to leading Czech research institutions, universities, expert foundations, and last year’s honorees to gather nominations of top names in science and research. In the final selection, key criteria included prestigious grants and awards received, citation impact, leadership of research groups, and efforts in the popularization of science.
