At the end of November 2025, the results of the grant calls announced by the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic (GA ČR) were published. In spring 2025, researchers from FSS MUNI were involved in submitting 40 proposals for standard projects, 13 of which were approved—representing a success rate of 33%. This is a significant achievement for our applicants, especially when compared with the nationwide approval rate, which—according to GA ČR—was historically the lowest this year at just 14%.
We secured three times as many projects as the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University, and more projects than a number of Czech universities achieved as entire institutions, including the University of South Bohemia, Mendel University in Brno, the University of Ostrava, Silesian University in Opava, Technical University of Liberec, the University of Pardubice, Tomas Bata University in Zlín, VSB – Technical University of Ostrava, Prague University of Economics and Business, the University of West Bohemia, and the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague.
The results of the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic Junior Star call, which supports early-career excellent researchers in basic research and their teams, were already announced in October 2025. In this call, Tibor Žingora, Ph.D., was successful. We congratulate all successful applicants. For those who were not awarded a grant this time, another opportunity will open in spring 2026 with the GA ČR 2027 call.
