This year’s elections brought encouraging results — voter turnout in the Academic Staff Chamber reached 83.33%, an increase of roughly 10% compared to the previous elections. In the Student Chamber, 32.58% of eligible voters participated, which also represents an increase compared to 2023. In total, 13 academic staff members and a record 24 students ran as candidates.
Main Topics of the First Meeting
At its inaugural meeting on November 3rd, the Senate discussed the Implementation Plan for the FSS MUNI Strategic Plan for 2026. The debate focused primarily on the modernization of the admissions process for follow-up master’s programs, the renovation of the Faculty’s basement facilities — including a new student club room and seminar classrooms — the preparation of a sustainability strategy, and the strengthening of communication about the social sciences.
Starting in January 2026, a new position will be created to coordinate outreach and communication about social science activities, enabling FSS experts to engage more actively in public debates and present their research findings in the media.
The Senate also appointed members of the Arbitration and Conciliation Commission and established the Doctoral Studies Commission as its advisory body.
