New Signage in the FSS Building

A new system of room signage has been introduced at the Faculty of Social Studies, in line with university-wide guidelines at Masaryk University. The aim is to unify the labeling system of classrooms, lecture halls, and study rooms to ensure clear orientation—not only for students and staff but also for emergency responders who must be able to react quickly if needed.

The new signs now display classroom numbers according to the official construction passport of the building. Traditional room labels, such as U32 or P21a, remain preserved under a transparent cover sheet to ensure continuity with past practice.

All signage will gradually transition into Masaryk University’s unified visual identity. The current version is only a temporary solution, introduced due to technical issues with the text generator for informational panels. Until the new system is fully functional, it is still possible to use signage in the existing design, supplemented where relevant with QR codes that are linked to the building plan in the Information System.

To support the effective use of the new style, the Rector’s Office will organize training sessions during the semester for employees.
