“What would you like to see for the FSS in the next four years?
I’d like to hear positive things about the FSS.”

Petra Mlejnková, Vice Dean for Internationalisation

What does your ideal morning look like?
A quiet morning when I don't have to constantly check my watch to see if we'll make it to kindergarten on time and if I'll make it to work on time. I enjoy mornings in hotels, where I don't have to make breakfast and can treat myself to just about anything.

What book have you read lately?
I'm currently at a stage in my life where I'm reading books for professional purposes or children's books. That's all I have the capacity for at the moment. In terms of fiction, I think the last one I read was The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. Those growing piles of my unread books will likely have to wait until retirement.

What is your favorite place at the faculty?
To be completely unoriginal, I’d have to say it’s probably my office :-) Sometimes, when there’s less traffic in the building, I enjoy sitting on the couch in the hallway.

What has surprised you the most in the last six months?
The dean's offer for me to become vice dean.

What do you think is the most important thing for FSS in the coming year?
There are several challenges. The biggest one is probably coping with the pressure on performance, which is always passed on to each faculty member.

Which point in the strategic plan are you most looking forward to implementing?
I don’t have one particular favorite point, which is probably due to the fact that I wasn’t involved in the creation of the FSS strategic plan. In general, I’m looking forward to finding ways to showcase internationally that we are a high-quality research and educational institution with brilliant minds at work, and that we are certainly worth collaborating with and studying at.
