The Faculty of Social Studies is committed to the principles of equal and fair treatment, diversity, and inclusion. Together, we form a community united by a shared interest in knowledge, the highest possible quality of education and research, and respectful interpersonal relationships. At the same time, as a faculty, we acknowledge our social and environmental responsibility.
Equality and fairness in treatment are key values for us at all levels — whether in relationships between employees and the employer, between teachers and students, among students themselves, or among colleagues. We have demonstrated our commitment to these principles, for example, by becoming the first faculty of social sciences in the Czech Republic to receive the HR Award certification and by focusing on the implementation of the human resources strategy that builds upon it.
Bodies responsible for overseeing compliance with ethical principles and equality.
The Ethics Board of Masaryk University is an advisory body to the Rector of Masaryk University. At the Rector’s request, the Committee assesses matters concerning compliance with moral principles and the rules set out in the Masaryk University Code of Ethics.
The Equal Opportunity Panel of the Masaryk University is an advisory body to the Rector, primarily concerned with issues of gender equality and non-discrimination.
The Code of Ethics is a declaration of moral values and general ethical principles relevant to the academic environment, to which Masaryk University and its academic community actively subscribe.
Protection of rights at MUNI
The Ombudsperson of Masaryk University is Eva Janovičová. The position is also known as an ombudsman or ombudsperson. Students, applicants for study, as well as employees and alumni, may contact her for assistance if they believe that their own rights or the rights of others have been violated. The Ombudsperson ensures confidentiality, impartiality, and independence.
We know that an inspiring and stimulating environment emerges where diversity is present. That is why the faculty’s doors are open to everyone, regardless of age, sex, gender, origin, sexual orientation, or other characteristics.
We care that all members of our faculty feel safe and welcome. Our goal is to provide as much support as possible wherever it is needed.
