Popis Routine Outcome Monitoring (ROM) has been extensively researched over the past decades, and its effectiveness has been sufficiently demonstrated. However, widespread implementation of ROM is still lacking. Multiple barriers and/or the lack of facilitating factors are responsible, such as perceived lack of clinical relevance, institutional factors, practical aspects, client factors, and therapists' resistance to feedback. This presentation will outline the development of a questionnaire targeted at mapping the barriers and facilitators to ROM use. We will also show preliminary data on the prevalence and predictors of barriers in a naturalistic sample of Czech psychotherapists. The questionnaire is based on a recent extensive qualitative meta-analysis summarizing barriers and facilitators commonly reported by psychotherapists across diverse treatment settings. Implications for further development of ROM systems and their implementation will be discussed.
