| Popis | This study examines how Czech populist radical right politician Tomio Okamura frames the news media on Facebook, focusing on accusations of untruthfulness, portrayals as an information source and depictions as a communication arena. Analysing 1,740 claims (2013–2020) through quantitative claims analysis, it highlights how affinity with alternative news media, strategic party positioning and crises (refugees, COVID-19) shaped Okamura’s framing of the news media. The findings underscore the role of news media as both adversaries and tools in populist radical right communication, providing insights into strategies in a media environment shaped by a mix of media ownership structures and political influences. |
