Sociology of Tomorrow 2016

We are pleased to invite you to the Sixth Annual Student Conference “Sociology of Tomorrow”, which takes place on 4th and 5th of March 2016 in U34 at Faculty of Social Studies in Brno, Czech republic.

The conference welcomes all students (Bachelors, Masters, and PhDs) to discuss their work and ideas with colleges from the field. There are no limitations for topics and research areas.

The theme of this year´s conference is Central Europe, the world and the sociological imagination.

Tomorrow is shaped by today, and sociologists of our generation are already starting to develop their own concepts of sociological phenomena. They are preparing research reports, writing essays, theses, and articles. This generation is going to lead sociology further, hereby we want to encourage everyone interested to participate and present their current projects. Share with us your thoughts, test your empirical research, get some feedback and meet like-minded persons! Besides, you have a chance to improve your presentation skills and spend two days in an inspiring environment.

A block of presentations in Czech and Slovak will be held on 4th of March. The presentations in English are planned for the next day, 5th of March. The main speaker of the block will be prof. The extended abstracts of the conference will be published on the Internet and in a printed version as well.

We would like to offer you two options for your accommodation in Brno. You can stay at with the - organizers or at a hotel room at your own expenses.

Send us your name and the title of your presentation till 31st of January for registration on mail: soczitrka@soc-nastupiste.cz and please send us your extended abstract (two or three pages) till 20th of February as well.

General guidelines for presentation:
- Each presentation should be no longer than 15 minutes
- Power-point slides or other types of visualization are recommended
- It is possible to present your work in pairs or groups

We definitely welcome contributions from other fields as well.
