XVII. Symposium of Political Science: Democratic backsliding in Central and Eastern Europe?

Political situation in several European states brings concerns among experts and public about resistance their democratic institutions or media and court independence. These threats could bring the possibility of more authoritative government for than liberal democracy. This year’s Symposium of Political Science will be dedicated to looking for the answer, if the democracy slowly perishing from our part of Europe.

In the first panel, experts from Czech Republic and foreign countries will be focus to describing an anomalies from democratic standards in Central and East European countries. Second panel is oriented to especially Czech Republic and its liberal democracy shape. Guests on our final Round table will be discuss about their view of future of liberal democracy in our country and others.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic situation, we are forcing to arrange Symposium as an online event through ZOOM video platform.
