Why did I choose to study PSPHR?
Hello! My name is Arzu and I am from Azerbaijan. It is my 3rd semester at the faculty of Social Studies and I am a student ambassador of Public and Social Policy and Human Resources, Master's degree programme.
I studied my bachelors in my home country in the field of Psychology and it have equipped me with a foundational understanding of human behavior, cognition, and emotion. However, I found myself increasingly drawn to the broader socio-political context that shapes individual well-being. Public and Social Policy offers a lens through which I can explore the systemic influences on mental health and societal dynamics. This perspective allows me to bridge the gap between individual experiences and the larger structures that impact them.
Azerbaijan, like many countries, grapples with diverse social issues that require comprehensive policy solutions. My decision to specialize in Human Resources further aligns with the need for effective personnel management within organizations and government agencies in my country. People are at the heart of any policy implementation, and Human Resources serves as a crucial link between policy objectives and their real-world impact.
Moreover, my choice is rooted in a desire to contribute to positive societal change. Public and Social Policy and Human Resources programme enables me to actively engage in shaping policies that promote social justice, inclusivity, and sustainable development.
