Why did I choose to study in the Energy Policy Studies Program at FSS?
April 2024
My name is Priya. I am from New Delhi, India. I completed my bachelor's in Political Science and Law in India. I wanted to continue my studies with a combination of energy laws, transition, and sustainability, and I found the energy policy studies to be the perfect match for my preferences. I was glad to have been admitted to this course.
Additionally, I chose to study Energy Policy Studies at FSS because of the multidisciplinary approach of this program. It is a unique course ( one of its kind in Central Europe). The course talks about real-life practices, theories, policies and mechanisms that revolve around Energy and our day-to-day lives. Energy is the most important commodity there is! I was also interested in learning about how it is used or manipulated by stakeholders before it reaches the end users. We use energy in everything we do, and it powers our modern society.
I wanted to learn about how states around the world are dealing with or planning to transition from traditional fossil fuel-based electricity and energy sources to cleaner fuels such as Wind and Solar. This course takes you through the fuel cycle to the supply chain of an energy resource, and it provides holistic knowledge about the available sources without being sceptical or pessimistic. The courses are taught to you in a direct and engaging manner to help you gather an unbiased understanding of the topic.
The program has courses for everyone, whether you’re interested in the practical, technical, economic, social or environmental aspects of energy. You will not find it hard to grasp the energy terminology, even if you are a complete beginner. The professors are very well-versed in their fields and are good English speakers.
You can ask as many questions as you want. The professors explain technical details with simplicity and will make you understand the logic behind things.
I was also very interested in studying in the heart of Europe, and Brno is the perfect place for you as a student. It is a welcoming student city that has become my second home. You will have a great time learning about energy at MUNI in this wonderful city.
