What experiences make you a great ambassador? 

I came to Brno all the way from Japan after spending most of my life there. It was not easy to start a whole new life in a country that I had never even been to, especially amid the pandemic. I remember how my head was filled with question marks when I first got here. So I understand how it might be difficult to go through the first year at university, the visa process, and some culture shock at the same time. I am here for every future student to support you, so don’t hesitate to contact me if you have questions or worries ;)

What advice would you give to new students?

Take every opportunity you are given! There are lots of events for new students in the first semester that help you to settle down in the new place. Also, do not miss the classes that you are interested in. Although there is a variety of classes offered by the faculty, some of them may not be held in the next semester.

Most of all, it is okay to be homesick or overwhelmed by a whole new environment.

What do you love most about Brno?

I love how the scenery in this city changes beautifully as the season changes.

We can see flowers in bloom with the sun in spring. On the contrary, we also could see a big Christmas tree with snow in the city center in winter:) It has been two years since I first came here, but I still take pictures whenever I go out, like I am new in the city.
