A busy weekend at FSS
On the second weekend of May, FSS hosted the MjUNI Junior University. Two hundred fifty children aged 9 to 18 years old were able to experience what it is like to study at FSS. On the same weekend, the faculty building also opened for the first time to visitors as part of the Open House Brno festival. Sixty people took part in five guided tours, while hundreds more came to the building for a free audio tour.

"Being part of MjUNI was an interesting experience. Introducing the university library to children, for whom we do not have a children's or even a young adults department, seemed like a challenge," said Aneta Pilátová, one of the librarians. "We based it on the theme The Master Librarian's Code which draws on knowledge of history and the presence of libraries) and information and reading literacy. In the end, we were pleasantly surprised because the tasks following the discussion – compiling a reference to a favorite book into a reading journal or searching for a book in the catalog according to clues – were not a problem for them," she added.
The young visitors were most impressed by the equipment and technology in the library - self-check Karel, book scanner, QR codes, register from the reader's and librarian's side, apps, and the security gates.
