A Different Kind of Work Day: Full of experiences and knowledge!

In mid-April, we offered an unconventional event at the Faculty of Social Studies called "Experience the working day differently." The event was intended for all non-academic staff and employees and aimed to diversify the ordinary work routine and offer everyone the opportunity to develop on a personal level, to deepen relationships with colleagues and to recharge their energy.

Those interested could choose from two options:

Fourteen courageous individuals delved into the secrets of the workshop 'Paths to Life and Work Satisfaction' under the guidance of Associate Professor Alena Slezáčková from the MUNI Department of Medical Psychology and Psychosomatics. I anticipate that collaboration with the associate professor will become a regular occurrence at FSS. Following the workshop, participants enjoyed a communal lunch at the Academic Canteen, followed by a fascinating tour of the MUNI Simulation Centre. We found ourselves immersed in a 'real hospital environment,' complete with an emergency room, operating theatres, a delivery room, intensive care units, and even a heliport.

Forty lovers of the great outdoors ventured to the picturesque Pálava protected landscape area. Everyone could select the route from Dolní Věstonice to Pavlov according to their physical condition and needs. A communal lunch in the Bobule guesthouse with free soup (participants know) satisfied everybody’s taste buds and was followed by a free program according to one’s taste and mood - walks, coffee and cakes, local specialties or Archeopark.

Both DIFFERENT kinds of working days received rave reviews.

I believe that such activities play an important role in building a happy and motivated team at work, and this won't be the last of them.

Big thanks to the superheroes in the Economic Department, especially Alice Kozlova, for handling forty extra travel orders. Special appreciation goes to the Dean and the Secretary for supporting this event and contributing financially to the lecturer's fees and bus transport. And last but not least, a heartfelt thanks to all of the participants for their enthusiasm and proactive attitude. I am already looking forward to the next time!
