Evacuation Takeaways: How Did the Evacuation Drill Go?

In April, we carried out a trial evacuation of the building. Thanks to your feedback, we now know what needs improvement: the siren and megaphone were not clearly audible in some parts of the building. The faculty plans to adjust the siren system and purchase a new, more powerful megaphone.

Some employees received the emergency SMS messages late—or not at all. This system is managed by the university, and we have passed the issue on to the responsible party. Please check your emergency contact number in INET to ensure messages are sent to the correct phone in such situations.

Emergency exits will be newly marked to improve orientation and to make an evacuation even easier to navigate. Familiarizing yourself with the evacuation plan can also help—each space has its own designated route, to avoid congestion on the main staircase.

The assembly point remains in front of the Red Church. Its location follows fire safety regulations; however, we have submitted a proposal for a possible expansion or relocation of the assembly area.

Evacuation drills will now take place every year and without prior warning, in order to simulate a real-life scenario as accurately as possible.
