New series about the People of FSS

In each installment, you can look forward to the same seven questions being asked to a different person. This time we interviewed Martina Konečná.

“My job is to take care of students and to do so lovingly. All that as a clerk in the study department.”

What does your ideal morning look like?
It's one without the alarm clock and all the rush. For me, that's the best!

Can you suggest a good café or lunch place in Brno to our colleagues?
Food and good coffee are things that I live for. 😃 My heart lies with the MotMot roastery, which was founded by my friends from the time of our studies. You can get a coffee from them at two places in Brno, the closest one is at the Zelný trh bus stop, or you can buy beans for your home or office. I always keep a supply in my office for my Aeropress. For food I like to go to Micro Farm in Zelňák, it's a bit further, but the taste is worth it.

What has surprised you the most in the last six months?
The fact that it's going to be Christmas again. I don't understand where all the time went.

What do you look forward to the most during your working day?
It may seem like a slightly infantile thing, but I like to stamp contracts. It means that all the steps to create the agreement have been completed and the door has been opened for someone new to work at the university. You never know, it might have been one of their dreams.

What is your favorite place at the faculty?
I love my little green oasis in the office and sometimes I wonder how many more plants I can still manage to fit in.

What is your most productive hour at work?
I don't keep the stats, but I probably do the most between 9 and 11 and then between 2 and 3. I wonder if it's a coincidence that it correlates with the times I have my first and second cup of coffee of the day.

What book have you read recently?
Šikmý kostel by Karin Lednická. I liked it so much that I had to buy it twice! Seriously, I forgot the first volume together with my backpack at the airport. 😃 I hadn’t finished the last 50 pages yet and continuing straight on with the next volume was out of the question.
