Who is Lenka Plachá
Are you applying for a GACR project or have you been awarded one? Then we certainly do not need to introduce Lenka Plachá from the Finance Office of our Faculty.

She has been working as a budget manager for GACR projects since 2014, with a short break. Although her "management" portfolio also includes other grant frameworks, the "GACRs" form the core of her workload. She spends the first months of the year supporting the completion of interim and final reports, financial settlements of ending projects, and then slowly waits for March and April to come with the submission of new applications, budget consultations for upcoming projects, followed by the summer months with the consolidation of finances of running projects and the preparation for the end of the year with its hectic annual deadlines. And Lenka still maintains a good mood, is all smiles and willingly helps in solving problems related to staying in compliance with the budget rules of the projects.
In 2021, for example, she managed 23 projects and was involved in 44 applications.
In her own words, this active and energetic slim woman recharges her "batteries" by playing sports. From spring to fall she paddles a dragon boat (in 2021 she won the Czech Cup in the women's category with her boat), in winter she goes cross-country skiing and in summer she goes hiking in nature. Her favourite thing, however, she says, is pedaling her bicycle, and as long as the temperature doesn’t drop below minus 10 degrees Celsius, it serves as her daily means of transport on the way to the Faculty.
The head of the Finance Office evaluates the contribution of Lenka Plachá by saying: "Lenka acts as a ‘quiet force’, she manages her projects calmly, but with an emphasis on accuracy and correctness of all reported data. She is friendly, kind and helpful to those around her not only at work but also outside the faculty."
