People of FSS: Who is Michaela Burgetová?
Thousands of applications pass through her hands.
She was born in Olomouc, where she graduated from grammar school and played competitive volleyball for 12 years. She is a graduate from the Faculty of Public Policy at the Silesian University in Opava, and moved to Brno after she finished her studies. Her first job in Brno was working for the regional office of the Department for Asylum and Migration Policy of the Czech Ministry of the Interior. After four years there, she was happy to join the study department of our faculty. Who are we talking about? Michaela Burgetová. She has already been taking care of the admission procedure for Czech bachelor's, master's, and doctoral study programs for two years.
Míša Burgetová is usually the first person that our applicants communicate with and from whom they also receive the decision on whether or not they have been admitted to the faculty. During her two-year tenure, almost 10,000 applications have passed through her hands. About the agenda, Michaela best likes its diversity, inquisitive e-mail questions, and the fact that she can help candidates on their way to FSS. "Míša brought positive energy and peace to the office," says her colleague Ludmila Polášková. This is also confirmed by the Vice-Dean for Education, who values human while at the same time professional approach in particular.
In her free time, Michaela likes to sleep, travel, play sports, cook and bake goodies for her family and friends, and she loves cleaning - she says she starts thinking about washing a cup before someone has finished their drink. This summer she traveled with her husband around the Baltics and enthusiastically visited a music festival again after a long time. And what is she looking forward to in the current academic year? To the electronic protocols of the admission procedure to the doctorate programs, because there will be even less printed paper.
