Research at the FSS has been evaluated according to the M17+ Methodology

In the evaluation for Module 1, which assesses nominated outputs based on an expert qualitative assessment, a total of 15 outputs were evaluated for the FSS in 2023. Of these, one output received the highest possible rating, six outputs received a rating of '2,' and seven outputs received a rating of '3.' A '1' indicates a world-class result, a '2' indicates an outstanding internationally significant result, and a '3' indicates an internationally recognized result.

The best-performing article was authored by the team of Jan Osička, Lukáš Lehotský, and Filip Černoch. Published in the journal Energy Research & Social Science, it focuses on the future of coal as an energy source in the Czech Republic, Germany, and Poland.

Most of the faculty's disciplines were represented among the outstanding international achievements. In anthropological research, Eva Šlesingerová's book We, Other Utopians, published by Routledge, was awarded for its exploration of genome and DNA editing from an ethnographic perspective. In the field of media and communication research, the article by Martina Černíková, Lenka Dědková, and David Šmahel, published in the journal Information, Communication, and Society, focused on the experiences of children and adolescents communicating with strangers in the online environment was rated highly. As was an article from the same field by Hana Macháčková and David Šmahel in the journal Telematics and Informatics that investigated the perceived importance of credibility cues for assessing the trustworthiness of online information among visitors to nutrition, dieting, and fitness websites.

Peter Spáč and Petr Voda were part of the authorship team for an article in the Government Information Quarterly, where they examined the impact of the right to information on the degree of transparency of local governments. Roman Chytílek focused on comparing the attitudes of supporters of populist and mainstream parties towards corruption in his chapter published as part of a collective monograph by Edward Elgar. The field of sociology is represented by a chapter in a book published by Brill, authored by Beatrice Chromková Manea and Nadja Jaworsky, which explores how attitudes towards immigrants and immigration are shaped by elements of national identity and political culture.
