We bring you another part of the column introducing colleagues from different departments of the faculty. In each issue, you can look forward to the same seven of the same questions for one person. This time we interviewed Lukáš Klouba from the Centre for Information and Communication Technologies.

What does your ideal morning look like?
The one when I know I don't have to get out of bed. Not that I don't get out eventually, but the feeling of not having to is good :D

Can you recommend a good café or lunch place in Brno to our colleagues?
As for the cafés, I think the one that suits me best is Podnik between Šilingrovo and Cabbage (Zelný) square. But most of the time I make my own coffee.

Regarding food, I'm not picky and I don't have a favorite place. If I had to recommend one, the best-seasoned food of all kinds of flavors I've tasted so far would be at Pilgrim on Kpt. Jaroše Boulevard. It is a vegan place. I'm not a vegan myself, but the food is worth forgoing any meat.

What has surprised you the most in the last six months?
That the nuclear fusion experiments have progressed quite well.

What do you look forward to the most during your working day?
The variety. Apart from the pre-arranged things and standard work, there are a lot of surprises every day that you have to think about, often you also have to learn or find out some new detail to solve a particular problem.

What is your favorite place at the faculty?
Well... the most interesting is the corridor where the entrance to the U3V is because there is rarely anyone there, it is always completely dark (if you don't turn on the lights, there is really no light that comes through even on a sunny day) and sometimes it is flooded.

But as far as spending time goes, during the summer I'm happy when we have to do something in one of the server rooms because of the air conditioning, and during the rest of the year, I like my little spot in the office where I'm surrounded by boxes of tea and lots of other odds and ends.

What is your most productive hour at work?
Hour? Well, it's definitely not after lunch. But it's probably also not 7 am when I get to work. I guess it depends on the requests I have to deal with at the time. If I had to guess, it would be between 9 and 10 in the morning.

What book have you read recently?
On the last day of the year, I finished the first book of the To Sleep in a Sea of Stars duology by Christopher Paolini (well, the original was only one book, but the translation has two parts... don't ask me why). I don't have the second one on my bookshelf yet, so I reached for a random unread book (there are about 50 of them at the moment - I don't read much + I buy a lot of them), which is The Universe Decided Differently by Czech author Theresa Black (I even have it signed by the author), and that's the one I'm reading right now.
