Series about the People of FSS
Read the latest installment of the popular column about people at FSS. Another member of the faculty leadership, to whom we asked seven questions, is our faculty secretary Pavlína Kadlčková.

“What would you like to see for the FSS in the next four years?
Pavlína Kadlčková, our faculty secretary
My wish would be for the faculty capable and knowledge-thirsty students, as well as motivated and satisfied employees. I would like for all of the faculty’s activities and projects to be successful, and that everyone at the faculty feels comfortable and enjoys being here.”
What does your ideal morning look like?
The perfect morning for me is a summer morning at our cottage surrounded by nature. Everyone around me is still asleep, I'm sitting outside on the patio in the sun with a cup of fragrant coffee, listening to the birds singing, and watching the squirrels steal our still unripe hazelnuts.
What book have you read lately?
I have several books that I am in the middle of on my bedside table. Among the most recent ones are Renata Kalenská's book of interviews with Marek Orko Vácha, Jiří Peňás' travelogue Expeditions with the Prince around the Schwarzenberg Places and James Herriot's favorite stories of a veterinarian. And I'm looking forward to the third and final volume of Karin Lednická's series of novels, The Leaning Church.
What is your favorite place at the faculty?
I really love the entire faculty building, and especially like that it has an "old", classic style. My favorite place is the Atrium, but I spend most of my time in my office. I still like it though.
What has surprised you the most in the last six months?
I guess what has surprised me the most was that after many years at MUNI, many things can still surprise me. 😃
What do you think is the most important thing for FSS in the coming year?
I think it is important that the faculty retains some flexibility, so that it is able to respond to challenges and changes in internal and external conditions in the areas of study, the social sciences, funding and becoming more international.
Which point in the strategic plan are you most looking forward to implementing?
In the area of internal administration, I am most looking forward to having the reconstruction of the water distribution system completed. I hope we won't be unpleasantly surprised by some big secret hidden in the walls of the building. On the other hand, we have been toughened up a bit after the first phase last year and I believe that we will once again be able to complete everything successfully in cooperation with our excellent colleagues.
