Series about the People of FSS
Here is the next edition of the column introducing colleagues from different departments of the faculty. In each edition, you can look forward to seven of the same questions for one person. This time we interviewed Olga Cídlova from the Department of International Relations and European Studies.

“I work as an assistant in the Department of International Relations and European Studies. Generally speaking, I provide administrative support to the members of the department. I would divide my work into four categories – economic, HR, study programs, and operational matters.”
Olga Cídlová
What does your ideal morning look like?
Coffee is absolutely necessary as is breakfast, and a backpack, and then a dash into the countryside, on a bike, on a horse...
Can you recommend a good café or lunch place in Brno to our colleagues?
I'm not really a cafe person, so I can't recommend a cafe. They cook very well in the restaurant Na Solnici. When I want something Asian, I go to SuChi on Gorky street or Buddha on Freedom Square. Fortunately, there are a number of good restaurants close to the faculty.
What has surprised you the most in the last six months?
Could it be also something from my life outside of work? Then it is the fact that so many people wanted to have Andrej Babiš as president. Although perhaps this did not surprise me but rather saddened me.
What do you look forward to the most during your working day?
Surprisingly, it's not lunch, although I don't deny that a midday walk with my colleagues to see what’s on the menu for today is always pleasant. What I am most looking forward to is something happening, meeting nice people, being able to fix something, sort something out, help someone. That's what I enjoy, the "buzz" of daily operations. I also always look forward to being able to finish what I have planned for the day, but unfortunately, it doesn't always work out that way.
What's your favorite place at the faculty?
My office. The view of the Red Church, the Constitutional Court, the Rector's Office, and the Regional Authorities Office never gets old.
What's your most productive hour at work?
No idea, probably anytime, I'm most productive under the slight pressure of deadlines.
What book have you read recently?
There were many of them, I'll mention just a few. Lenka Klicperová and Markéta Kutilová - War Is My Fate, Lars Kepler - The Rabbit Hunter, Alena Morštajnová - Hana, Kateřina Tučková - The Factory, Karin Lednická - The Leaning Church, Jo Nesbø - Police, Günter Grass - The Tin Drum... I don't want to cover the whole page :-)
