What do you wish to the faculty to the next four years?
Veronika Velička Zapletalová, Vice-dean for communications
To remain a beloved brand not only for students, but also for alumni and staff.
What does your ideal morning look like?
Somewhere on a hill in the middle of my beloved White Carpathians, where I can sip coffee with my husband from our little hiking tin cups, while our dog ostentatiously makes it clear that he wants to go home to the sofa.
What kind of book have you read recently?
I usually read several books at the same time. Currently, I am working my way through 'Pentecost' by Miroslav Hauč, 'Burnout' by Petr Šesták, and, especially, 'You Will Lay Out Your Memory' by Petr Torčík, which kept me glued to my seat. Additionally, I indulge in Nordic crime fiction, I like authors like Jiří Hájíček, Michel Houellebecq, and Petra Dvořáková. I've also committed to Vice Dean Soural that I'll openly admit to being a lifelong lover of all Kája Mařík's works.
What is your most favourite place in the faculty?
Lately, my favorite spot has been the armchair in the communications department. The fact that I always get great coffee and a cookie during my meetings there is just a bonus.
What surprised you most in the last half-year?
How creative my colleagues in the communication department can be and how effortlessly they can bring my sometimes mischievous ideas to life.
What do you think is the most important to FSS in the next year?
That we are able to continue to talk openly with each other within the faculty, even about unpleasant things.
Which point of the strategic plan are you most looking forward to fulfilling?
It's a lot. From my portfolio, it is definitely further cooperation with secondary schools, the popularization of science and further tuning of the faculty's internal and external communication strategy.
