Popis This chapter focuses on food as a fundamental aspect within two squatted housing commons (rurban communities) on the hills of Barcelona. The rationale of the chapter is conceiving housing as a common and, nested within it, the perspective of food as a common, which is important because, particularly in Mediterranean countries, the kitchen and the food culture is a fundamental element of inhabiting. Moreover, it can be considered as intangible cultural heritage, where autonomous self-organized practices can also be included (Travlou, 2020) . When joined together, the everyday commoning practices of habitation and of alimentation integrate each other into an enhanced dimension of communal living.
