Popis | The Intensive Week in Brno (May 5–9, 2025) provided students with a unique, full-time, real-world experience in social work advocacy. Throughout the week, participants from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Italy, and Croatia worked as if they were part of a professional advocacy team, dedicating their time to analysing policies, consulting with experts, and developing concrete strategies for policy change. Through interactive workshops, expert lectures, and field visits to local social service organisations, students gained firsthand insight into how social policies affect practice. Working in international teams, they took on the role of policy advocates, identifying a specific social policy issue and preparing a realistic action plan to influence that policy. The week culminated in the presentation of their team projects - “A Journey to Policy Change” - where students proposed actionable steps based on their research, field observations, and collaborative planning. This intensive week not only deepened their understanding of social work in different international contexts but also provided a practical, hands-on learning experience that equipped them with advocacy, teamwork, and policy development skills. |
